It was wonderful to see one of my favorite David Lynch films, Wild at Heart, in the theater tonight on this snowy evening. As the Good Witch says, “Don’t turn away from love.”

I got to watch Blue Velvet last night in a sold-out theatre. Most of the audience were college-aged students. It was such a thrill to hear them laugh or gasp (sometimes at the same time) to a film I first fell in love with at their age. David Lynch forever!

It seems like serendipity that the (already planned) David Lynch retrospective film series at our local cinema started this week when so many fans want to mourn his passing and celebrate his work. The series started with The Elephant Man tonight.

I am honored to learn that my book, Poe, Queerness, and the End of Time, has been selected by the Poe Studies Association as the 2022 winner of the Patrick F. Quinn Award for outstanding monograph on Poe.
