As a precondition of any budget negotiation, Ds should insist on replacing Grassley as Senate President Pro Tempore with one of their own. I suggest Tammy Duckworth of IL. Largely ceremonial, the Pres Pro Tem is just behind speaker in succession. Thinking we may get lucky and the 3 ahead get kirked.

I spent a couple of hours canvassing for a Bd of Ed candidate this afternoon. Maybe I helped turn 1 vote, which is something.
