How are mermaids meant to see where they are going?

(Was recently talking to small kid and "mermaid" and "bike helmet" was mentioned in same second, which made me think ......)
How are mermaids meant to see where they are going? 2. OFMD S3 announcement will happen on the anniversary of Cancellation Day.

I was reading these out loud, and now have another Christmas miracle as well 😆

My lovely partner (who is a casual enjoyer of OFMD, not obsessive like myself) starts imagining an AWESOME fanfic! 💖
Screenshot of some plot notes: Firstmate Jim runs in and says they've seen the warship. Captain Frenchie says "okay let's do Plan A". (music starts: Ocean colour scene - river boat song) A succession of shots of Captain Frenchie saying "okay, Plan B", then "okay Plan C, etc etc... Each shot is in more and more different circumstances. Eg in one they are on a life raft, and in the next one they are back on the boat but he's dressed in an admiral's uniform. Towards the end there is a pause after one, and wee John innocently asks "when we get to plan z do we go back to Plan A or what?". They go all the way round to Plan A and then that carries on and works. Later Stede says "and you do this all of Plan A, very impressive!" and Frenchie has to pretend.
