" the First Canadian Avengers " markers on paper 4" x6"🍁.

If we were to to assemble a Canadian Avengers , surely these two would have been members at some point. This was a personal commission to add these two OG's to the wall of my studio.

"A Unifying Sentiment " 7" x 10" markers on paper.

I often hide in my studio when frustrated. Sometimes a strong unified sentiment does seep through in my work.

"It was not that they had no right to take you, it was the way they asked "

As a kid I would pay tribute to movies and stories I liked by drawing them. I still do that, an illustration study, reference Kindom of Heaven 2005 directed by Ridley Scott

" Blue Mid March Skies" markers on paper preliminary sketch.

Oh how good it is, when the days get longer and the breeze gets warmer. Finding hope in a mad world looking at the cloudless skies. The trees start whispering to me this time of year.

Do you sometimes find yourself in moments of reflection, looking at the world around you and just go ..

"OUCH"

Yeah me too.

Test driving some pretty cool new pens my sister gifted me today. Sometimes a small kind gesture is the wind we need in our sails on tough days that just keep on coming.

"Cloudbusting" oil on wood panel 34" x 9"

Summer skies over Elgin Mills Road, cutting through the farmland, watching the whales swim hopeful in the endless skies. Beyond the edges of the great Big Smoke to the South, looming in the distance while to the North, the land stretches forever.

Adrift on Waves of Joy" markers and brushed acrylic on paper. Preliminary sketch.
My friend tells me, of finding peace on the waves. A picture came across my feed that confirmed this to be fact, so I had to sketch it. As a painting from this sketch emerges, so shall that deep sentiment see light.

"FLIGHT" . Small & medium tip Faber Castell artist pen on paper 9 x 12 inches ( 22.8 x 30.4 cm )

Looking at illustrations from a few years ago, thinking of turning them into paintings. It's a tough choice , revisiting old work which was intended to be explored further, or starting new stuff.

"Science and Culture Sold Over Asking" markers on paper 11" x 5"

Like 54 million others since 1969, we stood in the vast spaces of the Science Center, marveling at the sheer magnitude of the structure itself, in harmony with the landscape beyond the windows, shining in the late spring sunlight.

" Queen and Spadina ain't no place for a bear.... " ballpoint pen and sharpies on paper. 10 x 7 " .

I remember the city in my formative years, running wild, surfing a wave of beer down Queen St. Then came a time when I realized I'd much rather hibernate. The positive memories still hold strong.

"In aGalaxy FAAR OUT MaaN !!" markers on paper 10 x 6.5 "

This could have been a totally different movie, it sure all plays that way in my head after all these years. Much as I did as a kid during troubled times, I now hide in my imagination and studio when the world gets too heavy.
