That banquet scene from the Paris Olympics opening — pretty iconic, right? Barbara Butch, the Parisian DJ and activist, was one of the standout artists. And now she’s taking on the role of artistic director for Nuit Blanche Paris in 2026.

Starting in September, Paris is putting over 200 homes on the market through a solidarity lease. The goal? To make homeownership possible for around €5,000 per square meter — even in neighborhoods where property prices are usually much higher. Pretty cool, right?

Paris cleaned up the Seine by fixing sewers, building stormwater basins, and pulling out trash—enough that people can swim there for the first time in 100 years. Social media needs the same: infrastructure fixes, not cosmetic tweaks.

Combining Dutch-inspired cycling infrastructure and traffic filtering, along with the creation of new pedestrian and green space, Place de Catalogne has undergone one of Paris' most striking urban metamorphoses—shifting from a harsh, car-dominated roundabout to the city's pioneering “urban forest.”🧵

NEW: Paris reopens the Seine River to public swimming after a century-long ban! “About 1,000 swimmers a day will be allowed to use 3 public bathing sites after €1.4bn clean-up program.” 14 more bathing spots beyond the city are planned.

Big, bold leadership.
