Vaalmonica released with a dearth of ways to get Resonance Counters. Until the second wave gave semi-consistent access to a combo that got three, we were scraping the bottom of the barrel for cards that did effect damage to yourself. Trick Clown featured in your own TMT list on the deck, even.

He's a *very* funny extender in Vaalmonica, which is something. Though if you're making a Link 2, you've probably done everything you could ever want anyway.

Xid, my beloved.

Either way, I'll rec Potionomics. It's a deckbuilder (not a roguelike) with optional romance a la Persona, where you make potions, then haggle people out of their cash for them.

Are you looking for a game with romance in it, a game about romance, or a game where you can romance?

To extend grace they probably don’t deserve to the interpretation, the glasses feel out of place in Star Trek to me as well, since they’re a utopic sci-fi setting. Feels like they’d be able to wave a tricorder and fix any vision problems. Like, Jordi needed “glasses”, but they were fixing blindness.

Another one, I played Argostars Odion, and that deck is RUTHLESS when it comes to zone management and timing your traps. Screw up, and your Argostars end up trapped in your back row, and your Apophis negates nothing.

Vaalmonica is themed around an instrument made of GLASS, and the combo is appropriately fragile. Any interruption or misplay will see you come up short on Resonance Counters. If you don’t have three for the Links, the end board is, at best, dust tornado or compulse.

Just saying, FE made the Lord of the game a mercenary three times, and each time the series writing was the best it’s ever been. Maybe it’s time IS moved away from the Divine Right of Kings.

Also revisiting this thread, and saw your Awakening take. Got me thinking. Apropos of it getting added to NSO, have you ever played Path of Radiance? It’s probably the FE game closest in tone and quality to Three Houses. Good shit.

No One Can Know About This: Final Fantasy audio only LP, with post edit commentary. Tons of fun.

This better what you bring to next week’s Critical Error Show-n-Tell.

I think it solves the worst problem about Droll, which is that it just says no. My opponent drawing three puts them at an insane advantage, but I can still activate cards. I’ll take this trade in a heartbeat.

Why would @wooliewoolz.bsky.social do this to you?

I’ve been doing just fine with it in the event. Just make an S:P or a I:P to dodge Nib or get another Zebufera respectively.

Jake and Peter: This issue has reached the peak of its relevance and can no longer be ignored. We should do the podcast episode on it.

The Issue: Somehow gets *more* relevant.

Magikarp is the most frustrating shiny, because Gyrados is so good, but everyone will just think he’s from the Lake of Rage if you evolve him.

And it’s just Gold Ship giving her a piggyback ride.
