Welcome to my page!

Hello! While I try to get myself situated in unfamiliar territory (πŸ˜…), a few things about me:

πŸ¦‹ I paint surreal and fantasy art!

πŸ¦‹ I love to sing, and I'm also learning harp!

πŸ¦‹ I'm a medievalist with interests in Celtic, Norse, and Anglo-Saxon culture/literature.

Welcome! More coming soon ❀️
So much joy from one picture πŸ˜‚πŸ¦‰
There is such a rich variety of owls, I have tried to depict some of them here (GROWL, PROWL and YOWL not included).

'Cosmos' gave me chills, and I actually just finished 'Demon Haunted World!' I really think the latter should be required reading in school. I think you'll like 'Pale Blue Dot;' it's very humbling. ☺️πŸ₯°

I have a sudden urge to read 'Pale Blue Dot' again...πŸ€”

2026 goal? πŸ€” Granted, that would require me to actually make art first. πŸ« πŸ˜…

I do that all the time with my pens and brushes. 🫠

Fun news! I was juried into Anthrocon this July 3-5 in Pittsburgh (my hometown!)! It will be my first time there (dealers hall). I'm super excited! Perhaps I'll paint more dragons for it... (already have a ton of animals!)

40 years? 🀯🀯🀯 Dear God, I suppose it HAS been that long! Still hard to believe!

Not instrumental, but very beautiful and serene: I also suggest looking up the Irish group Anúna. ☺️

Seconding Thomas Bergersen! I also recommend Jennifer Thomas and Γ“lafur Arnalds. ❀️

The final bird for #BirdArtWeek2026! For #CharismaticEndemics, I chose the lesser prairie chicken, a grouse found only in the Southern High Plains of the United States. It is unfortunately a vulnerable species due to habitat loss.

We end #BirdArtWeek2026 with #CharismaticEndemics. The Resplendent Quetzal can be found only in Southern Mexico and
Central America. It's also one of my favorite species and is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful. 😍

#BirdArtWeek2026 - #PhotoNotAvailable
St. Kitts Bullfinch, possibly extinct. There are some possible sightings, but nobody has ever been able to take a proper photo of it.

More info about this bird and my painting process on my blog!

#BirdArtWeek2026 day 4, #SpectacularSeabirds! I HAD to choose the Black Guillemot, because I've loved them ever since learning about them just last year (and even tried to go find one based on an eBird sighting, no luck, but ONE DAY). The bright red! Why!! They're amazing.

Almost at the end of #BirdArtWeek2026! For #PhotoNotAvailable, I chose to draw the Mascarene Parrot.

This bird was endemic to the island of Réunion in the Indian Ocean and was declared extinct in the 19th century due to hunting and deforestation. 😒

For #BirdArtWeek2026 - #RuleBreakers I chose the bearded vulture because it eats bones. Other animals eat bones, like hyenas, but the bearded vulture lives almost exclusively on bones...like 90% of their diet is just bones!!...and that feels illegal.

January 22 of #BirdArtWeek2026 continues with #RuleBreakers. Here's a sweet little bird who likes to defy gravity: the white-breasted nuthatch! ❀️

Over halfway through #BirdArtWeek2026! For #SpectacularSeabirds I chose the American White Pelican. I am awed by how graceful they are in the air despite their bulk.

A bit more about my thoughts and color choices on my blog.

For today’s #BirdArtWeek2026 theme, #BirdSuccess, I painted a couple of sandhill cranes. In the 1930s, they were pretty much wiped out in the Eastern US, but have since recovered.

Day 3 of #BirdArtWeek2026, #BirdSuccess -- until recently, Peregrine Falcons were endangered. They successfully came back from the brink due to conservation efforts and the banning of DDT. And they're such incredible hunters and dutiful parents!!
