if it's cannibalizing sales on Xbox for the sake of try-before-you-buy, why don't companies just cut out the middleman and release demos on console? Even the laziest time-gated demo could hook some people it sounds like who then might actually pay for the game if it's not on gamepass.
New data from market intelligence firm Newzoo suggests that Xbox users don't necessarily play more games, or spend more time playing games than PlayStation users.

"We were a bit surprised that there was not like a visible ‘Game Pass effect’," they said.

Xbox Game Pass Subscribers Don't Really Play More Games, Says Analytics Firm
According to NewZoo's annual market report, title engagement among Xbox and PlayStation owners is similar, despite Game Pass offerings.

Hey Bluesky! A quick intro to Dashboard Breakfast, this is a new game development group based in Santa Fe, NM. Our name is meant to exemplify the pick-up-and-play, mechanics-focused nature of the game's we're interested in making, as well as the shorter development cycles we're planning. #gamedev

With the Oblivion remaster taking up the hype cycle, it's probably a good time to re-up that the Palestinian-led BDS movement has asked for a boycott of Microsoft's gaming products due to the company's ongoing and enthusiastic technical support for the IDF's ongoing genocide in Gaza.

Rachel Zegler is being set up to take the fall for a multimillion-dollar loss, and the people setting her up for it are banking on racist, misogynistic hatred on the internet to do the dirty work for them.

So I wrote about it.

Still remember the time in like 2017 I went to a career fair at my college and walked over to the Draft Kings table. The guy asked if I knew what Draft Kings was and I went "like a gambling website right?" and he gave me a free pen and shooed me away lol
I wish gambling was still so taboo

Here we go, something I've been drafting for a long, long time: how the US-centric approach to video games and their history / culture basically gaslights us who come from other realities:

After years away from game dev, I couldn’t stay silent about my people’s dehumanization. I made Dreams on a Pillow 🍉a game inspired by a famous Palestinian folktale about the 1948 Nakba.

I’m crowdfunding it now—please back & share!
