This is a test account. My main account is stephen.oysterarchery.com. Testing is done, so this account will eventually go away.
If I have an account with a verified custom handle, and I migrate it to my own PDS, do I need to do anything to keep the custom handle? #atproto

Looking closer at it, the PDS setup procedure contains the verification procedure, so it’s all the same, really.

I believe that the easier path is to start by setting up the new PDS for the domain. Then you can migrate your account there and get implicitly verified. (But I haven’t migrated my main account yet, so…)

It’s not too difficult if you are used to the command line. Took me about an hour.

This is an account I set up to test running my own PDS. On the plus side, it’s not too difficult to do. I just haven’t seen a whole lot of practical advantages to it yet to justify moving my main account here. But that’s why I’m exploring it.
