He/him. Tangata Tiriti. Politics, music, TV, food, law, the weird shit my kids do, eat the rich etc. Lawyer but not the bad kind. Disgraced former eye surgeon.
Has anyone heard anything about Amway hooking into weight loss coaching in NZ specifically targeting Māori? Heard something a bit fishy today going on at someone's work (manager getting staff to sign up for programmes, supplements etc.) and found some possibly linked stuff on social media.

Moving house was even more exhausting than expected and I hope I never have to do it again.

Love to see the Ockham Book Awards taking a stand against generative AI. It's a blight on the amazing work of human artists and places unacceptable strain on resources and the environment just to spit out unsettling, regurgitated slop. www.rnz.co.nz/life/books/t...
Top writers ruled out of NZ book awards due to AI covers
For the first time AI regulations have been applied to the Ockham New Zealand Book Awards, including every detail from cover to cover.

So it seems like Andrew Coster and Jevon McSkimming were church buddies. How utterly predictable.

No I won't sign your petition to ban under 16s from social media including my own children that I taught to use certain specified social media safely and responsibly to stay connected with their friends because by the time they are 16 they will not listen to me in fact they barely listen to me now.

Amazing how many FSU numpties have no idea how rights actually work. It's almost as if the FSU was started and continues to be operated in bad faith by people who care more about whether certain shitty people get a platform than whether free speech is actually being appropriately protected in NZ.

Spend 5 minutes on LinkedIn and tell me unchecked capitalism is working. People desperately trying to leverage personal trauma for engagement, "professionals" airing half-baked + hateful political views, managers you've seen bully people for years dispensing trite leadership tips. It's cooked.

It's a great day to stay inside. It's a significantly less great day to go on school camp so spare a thought from my 10yo and her classmates.

Hard disagree. If I catch you air strumming cowboy chords over a guitar solo you are wrong and I will absolutely judge you.
There are no wrong notes when you play air guitar.

This is a great but also really depressing piece of journalism on a business preying on the desperation of younger people, and I really don't understand why the CC can't intervene to shut it down: thespinoff.co.nz/business/14-...

This is the line-up for the Riyadh Comedy Festival. Setting aside some of the less surprising inclusions like Dave Chappelle and Louis CK, it is still hard to pick which of these is the most disappointing participant in Saudi Arabia's latest attempt to launder its reputation.

Kerrin Leoni really does appear to be the best option in a deeply underwhelming collection of Auckland mayoral candidates. Is that accurate? LMK if I'm wrong.

All the criticism of Luxon and co as weak and cowardly when dealing with their coalition partners seems to be working (cf. Paris Agreement), so keep it up until we can kick those fuckers out for good next year.
