I make things out of words.
Science-Fiction author sharing work completed, planned, and currently in procrastination.
Also sharing shameless self-promotion.

Glad to have you along for the ride!
Well, outside of a couple of short stories, it looks like I won't be publishing anything this year.
But the silver lining is that I've been writing up a frenzy. Next year ought to be busy.

In tonight's episode of "Mental Contradictions Theater": I am surprisingly spontaneous in my writing and my real-life encounters with my readers.
But I'll do ten drafts of the same email to them before I hit 'send' and then agonize over whether I could have done a better job.

This is all absolutely true.

Every year I grow more convinced that we should shave two weeks off January and give them to October. We need more time for Halloween.

Just about done with a small collection of short stories themed for the winter holidays.
Looks like I won't make my deadline for this year.
But I am way ahead of the curve for next year!

Had a chance to move around and make some new connections today. Met some fantastic indie authors, and made plans for next year as well as the end of this year.

Halfway through writing a short holiday-themed short story collection. If all goes well, it should be released own time for the holidays.

Censorship is so 1984. Read for your rights.

Today kicks off #BannedBooksWeek, and this year's theme reminds us that the right to read belongs to all of us, that censorship has no place in contemporary society, and that we must defend our rights.

Had a wonderful time at the Page & Pen Festival. I saw many old friends, made new friends, and even got to sell a few books.
Some earlier readers dropped by to see if I had anything new. Unfortunately, not at this time. Next time, however, I'll have something they'll love. Can't let the gang down.

I'll be selling my novel, "In the Shadow of the Dead," at Oviedo Mall's Page and Pen Festival, Saturday October 4.
I'm the guy in the Fedora and Harry Potter glasses.
I'll have my pet skull with me.
Mention that you saw this on Bluesky and get a big discount on the book.

This Saturday, if you're in central Florida, please feel free to drop by Oviedo Mall's Page & Pen festival. Fiction and non-fiction writers have gathered for a celebration of the written word.
Yes, we are selling our books, too. So grab a large bag for your TBR pile.
I'll see you there!

This October eve, I'd like to post a shameless plug, I mean, reminder that this book is good for all seasons. This post-apocalyptic work is a relaxing break from the current headlines.

You can find it at Barnes & Noble, Apple Books, and that vast online seller of books that shall remain nameless.

And my latest short story has been submitted to a friendly, neighborhood horror magazine.
Now we wait.
Not gonna lie: it isn't easy holding my breath until I hear something. Thankfully, I look good in blue.

Headlines got you down?
Do you feel like a post-apocalyptic novel would qualify as light and cheerful reading?
Well, do I have good news for you🙂.
Here's a novel that will lift your spirits and make you feel better about what's left of humanity.
Available at B&N, Applebooks, and other places.
