He is a computer safety researcher.

And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.

If Democrats weren't feckless cowards they'd be whipping their colleagues to make sure they didn't cave to Republicans. Withhold reelection funds, take them off committees, etc.
I've looked at all the details of this deal to end the shutdown reached by a small group of Senate Democrats. I've talked to a number of friends on the Hill to see if there's anything I'm missing. Sadly, I am not.

This is a shit deal. It's a betrayal. It's cowardice.

But make sure to blame the *real* villain: Convicted Felon Donald Trump. It was his decision to appeal in the first place.

Back to this well again, eh? PR has to vote on it and it's not a guarantee. DC will also have to agree, but the whole "Taxation Without Representation" thing makes it much more likely they'd do it. But still requires more than a simple majority due to filibuster.
Trump: "What the Democrats will do is make Puerto Rico a state, make DC a state, they're gonna pack the Court. They're gonna end up with more electoral votes. They're gonna end up with 4 senators. And they're gonna do this 100%."

Cool. What freedom are you fighting for? Name 1. What am I more free to do today than I was 20 years ago? Protest? Nope. Speech? Nope. Own firearms? Also nope. Bodily autonomy? Nope. Travel? Nope. Privacy? Nope. Education? Nope. Purchase goods? Nope. How about voting? That's a nope.
