My bad video game habit is playing the first hour or so of something until I get past all the tutorials, deciding I'm not in the mood to play it right now and setting it aside, then coming back months later and not remembering anything I learned in the tutorials but being too stubborn to replay them

Let me tell you, a real plus of having to move back in with my parents during our renovation is watching my 70-year-old dad get SUPER into lofi music and trying to insist he plays it 12 hours a day because he thinks my dogs like it

Just saw someone say that November 11th is Skyrim Day & god if that didn’t catapult me back to living in my parents’ house, playing Skyrim from the comfort of my bed, drinking blueberry tea while it snowed, the songs of Of Monsters and Men’s “My Head is An Animal” coming from elsewhere in the house

Boy I can’t wait to get this done so I can try and focus on the positives of living with my parents and my in-laws for the next 3-5 months: having regular help with my kids, and nothing to do at night but work on my backlog of games I’ve been permanently neglecting.

An update from the trenches: our storage space has finally been finished. We’ve been busy for the past several days boxing things up, so today will probably mean cleaning up the space and starting to move our zillion boxes inside.

Contractors aren’t coming today to start the project my wife and I stayed up until 1am cleaning in preparation for, so now I guess I continue packing but in hard mode, which is when I scoot around my wrecked house with my face pressed to the floor in anguish
