A tall, grey tower with a darker grey top and satellite dish on that with some lighter grey bits and bobs in the front. All in front of a grey background. Can you sense a theme… There’s a little grey tower off to the right with a dark grey shield generator on it. In fact, the only things that aren’t grey are the cutting mat it’s sat in and the front door, which is green.

Another couple of Arabic buildings released today; a small hut and a large house. Both with simple interiors and removable roofs.

There are a couple of nefarious types looking for loot… Showing the parts of the large house and the nefarious types are rather confused as this wasn’t what they were expecting. Another #StarWars post but it’s for Nevarro. I’ve had Corpos for a while now and got round to finishing the riot gear officers (Syril Kane would be proud 😬)

Stargrave plastics with heads and stun batons from Anvil Industries. Riot shields were scratchbuilt.

Just a little release today for the Victorian additions; a milestone and a signpost (scenic bases not included).

Gibberish on the milestone but the signpost reads 'Dorking', 'Leatherhead' and 'Boxhill'

A sandstone coloured mile stone on a 40mm scenic base. Utter gibberish on the stone itself as I’m not mad enough to try and paint names that small 😬 The nightwatchman on the left has a lantern. I don’t think he knows it’s daytime… Rural signpost on a 40mm scenic base. The signs say ‘Dorking’, ‘Leatherhead’ and ‘Box Hill’. I was mad enough to paint these 😬 It’s still daytime but the nightwatchman is insistent…

Finished off a Star Wars Visions inspired building base that had been sitting there for far too long.

Looking at the building base from the front right. The two story Japanese building has a sci-fi canopy on the front with a little shelf and some goods on it. It’s got a cylinder thingy on the roof that’s connected to a larger sci-fi thingy at the back. Various crates and cylinder thingies festoon the base which is quite verdant. Looking at the left hand side shows the cylinder thingy connected to the larger thingy. The building has a sci-fi thingy panel on the side with some suitable weathering/rust. Back right quarter showing the thingies off to greater effect. The large thingy has a control panel but your guess is as good as mine as to what it does. A low down look at the front better showing the shelf with things on it. A young Jedi on the left prepares to deflect a blaster bolt from the scout trooper on the right. I say prepare because I didn’t bother adding said blaster bolt in post process 😬

An overhead view of my Victorian riverside set up. The Thames is at the bottom looking very silty, there’s a tug docked against the side with a large warehouse behind it. In the right is a boats workshop that has a surrounding wall. On the left is a Fairburn crane on a stone plinth and behind that is another warehouse. There are a few bits of scatter placed here and there but the photo was taken before the game started so there’s no figures.

Afternoon everyone 🙂 Got another little VSF release today and it's a torpedo launcher. Phoom!

There will be torpedoes to go with it in a few weeks (both water and ariel) and possibly a rack, but we'll see how that goes 👍

Looking at the grey painted torpedo launcher from the front right. It’s a bit dirty so Nemo’s crewman really needs to give it a new lick of paint. He’s pointing his gun at some one though so the paint will come later. Looking at the launcher from the back right and has Nemo’s crewman turned around and moved the camera or has the launcher been spun round? Guess we’ll never know 😬

AT- crane standing next to the Bandai 1:48 AT-ST. It uses the Revel 1:52 AT-AT legs but everything else is scratchbuilt. It’s painted in various shades of grey and is subtly weathered all over. The crane rotates and the cargo is attached with magnets. There are LEDs on the inside and the inside is accessible. A side view of the AT-C facing right. There is a small balcony at the rear (left in the photo) but shock, shock, horror, horror, it has a railing 😱 That’s not very Star Wars is it… A look inside the cockpit in the dark with the LEDs on. The pilot can be seen sitting at his controls but whether he’s actually doing anything is anyone’s guess. A view of the inside looking towards the cockpit. It’s dirty and grubby, just as a workhorse should be. No Imperial inspectors to please here 😬 The squares on the floor are 25mm and can be used for figure movement to keep it easy.

Another range has been released and it's Arabic buildings. Mainly for the crusades but can be used for Pulp, WWI & WWII but also for fantasy games like Sinbad or Conan. The choice is yours 😁

A two story Arabic style building painted in a pale cream with a pale blue dome on top. Couple of 28mm crusader figures for scale. Grey (ish) background The single story building with the roof and dome off to show that there’s interior access. The two crusader figures are looking on in wonderment as this has never happened before. The third build in this ‘wave’ and the roof and dome are in place so all is well in the world.

Got another couple of beasty bits done. Another Minotaur and a beastmen shaman.

The shaman is a modern plastic kit as I’m not paying silly prices for an older metal one lol

On the left is a Minotaur, yet again, painted in shades of brown. He wielding a massive axe and will no doubt take great joy in using it against almost anyone. A group shot of all the beasties so far. Five Minotaurs in different hues or brown at the back. In the middle are the beastmen, also in browns and at the front is a hornblower (not the one of naval fame), the beastmen unit leader, the war alter, the beastmen standard bearer and the shaman. All ready to pour death and destruction on any unwitting enemy. Or even unwitting ally, as they really don’t care 😬

Seeing the Minotaurs go down so well (thanks 😊), here’s a GW bestigor and a Die Hard Miniatures beastmen war alter.

The alter is a great little kit with plenty of options but I’m not sure it’s available anymore. I added the two spears to the top.

Bestigor horn blower on the left painted in, you guessed it, browns and tans. The horn is a conversion with a plastic one S the metal one disappeared a while back and I’m not paying a tenner for a new one on eBay. On the right is the war alter. Great little kit. The alter itself is painted to represent obsidian but I’m not sure weather it works or not. Browns and tans for the beastmen of course.

Two minotaurs on 40mm round bases. The one on the right has a bloody large choppy thing and is generally brown in colour. The one on the right is generally grey in colour and also has a bloody large choppy thing but it’s not a bloody large as the other one. Would still hurt though 😬

Played a Sharp Practice 2 game today. Portuguese v French somewhere in Spain.

Ran out of time to complete but it could’ve gone either way if we carried on.

Good fun and good company with a rather nice pub lunch in between 😁

All in glorious 28mm Portuguese cavalry make a push beside the olive grove with French infantry in the distant background and a little shed/lean to front left. Portuguese Cacadores cross the river to try and fend off the French voltiguers in the olive grove on the far right (they failed 😬). The river runes through the centre of the shot, bottom to top The Portuguese gun takes a shot at the French infantry in the distance causing some damage but not enough to stop those advance across the bridge. Orange grove back left and river on the extreme right.

A project I started a while back and hope to get going again soon. GW plastic ogre conversion and a resin turtle, I can’t remember where from, with a wooden scratchbuilt barrel on top with some Perry yumi ashigaru 😊

I plan on doing another turtle with a cannon on top 😬

Plastic Gw ogre conversion into a Japanese oni, or demon. I sculpted a chon-mage for his hairstyle and sculpted some tabi for his feet. The belly plate was sanded down and painted with the Murakami clan mon (the Murakami were known pirates in the sengoku jidai). A also carved a large katana for. He’s painted with red skin and blue trousers that have a yellow three dot pattern on them. A better view of the carved katana and chon-mage hair. He’s on a 40mm base that has various growies and flowers on it. A large resin turtle with a scratchbuilt wooden barrel on top containing three perry yumi ashigaru (archers). The nobori (large banner) on the back show the Murakami mon on a red back ground with three white horizontal stripes below. Side view of the turtle better showing the nobori. The turtle is painted in a sort of olive/tan colour.

Update on the town terrain, fences glued on, beenhives added then added the texture to the board. Will let it dry overnight then hopefully paint up tomorrow
