Working on a cruise ship over this period is odd. Last night I went to the crew Xmas party, a very international affair. Hindu, Muslim and Buddhist people from tropical countries lining up for photos with Santa in front of a snowy back drop. A bizarre way to mark the South Pacific summer solstice.

Just watched this new special, great stuff, very tight, great tone. Deftly manoeuvres through difficult terrain while keeping it light hearted. A mature look back at a difficult adolescence which is insightful and moving without being mawkish or self absorbed. Five stars.
