For those wondering about Portland. This is Dillon, the mascot of our collegiate summer baseball wooden bat team - The Portland Pickles. We’re going to be silly about most things, but so many Portlanders will show up when the need arises.

Which work? Calling for gay people to be stoned to death? Blaming airplane crashes on black pilots? Anti-vax bullshit? Election denialism? Pushing Great Replacement Theory?

Kirk’s murder is awful and ominous for this country. But no, we don’t need to honor him or “continue his work.”

Charlie Kirk spent his life‘s work and all of his energy and time targeting out-groups while arguing for a world in which gun massacres would be easy to enact, plentiful, and inevitable, and he became famous and wealthy doing it, and we’re now not supposed to mention that because it’s not polite.

"Harvard can't use race as a factor in admissions, but ICE can use race as a factor in detentions" is a retrenchment essentially to a pre-Civil War understanding of the Constitution. It's vanishingly few steps removed from "Latinos have no rights which the white man is bound to respect."

Sometimes I wish someone would try me, I’m ready to use these hands. But most of the time, like 98%, I really just want to go get some cafe de olla and a concha.

Picked this up today. I’d been thinking about this record recently, but I couldn’t remember who put it out or the title. I just remembered loving this ca. ‘01/‘02. Looking through some used records at my favorite shop here in town and look what I found, priced just right too.

I finally watched King of New York; It was okay. I think if I had watched it in the 90s I would have loved it. Laurence Fishburne and Giancarlo Esposito are always great, Walken is almost always great. And the more I see Paul Calderón the more I like him. Robert LaSardo is also always good

The government’s own data shows that the real domestic threat to homeland security is white nationalism. No plans to expand the use of the national guard to control that.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on Tuesday defended the Pentagon’s deployment of nearly 5,000 active-duty Marines and National Guard members to help the police in Los Angeles quell unrest — at an estimated cost of $134 million.
In House Testimony, Pete Hegseth Defends Deployment of Troops to Los Angeles
The defense secretary also suggested in his testimony to a House panel that the use of the National Guard for homeland defense would expand under President Trump.
