Encouraging to see my city has at last spent some cash on improving this cycle route (NCN1). VFM shown with...erm, a new sign for very tall people on cycles, or perhaps penny farthing riders. Maybe a taster of what long-awaited LCWIP will achieve

While jeg elsker Danmark and Copenhagen in particular, the sooner these are just internationally known as side road junction crossings and standardised the better

Man in his conservatory on BikeHubs website explains how to use these new lockers, though without a bike. I worked out it involves 15 steps (!) to get your bike in one first time. Well intentioned but clunky and too much friction compared to a car park app. I hope my booking for next week works.

Sadly missed it but absolute credit to @lb-southwark.bsky.social running a 'Guided Cycle Consultation' where Officers actually got out & cycled with residents to consult changes. People saying it was the best consultation they've ever seen. FANTASTIC progress that every Council should copy.

In spring 2025, girls aged 10-18 shared their thoughts and experiences of Rowntree Park in York, and other public parks more broadly. Their voices highlight what makes these spaces feel welcoming - and what could be improved. Part of a local project to raise awareness and improve things.

Enjoyed funally seeing award winning The Avenue in Saffron Walden today. Loved the shingle cladding on some homes. One resident said he loved it.. but there were a lot of leaves!

Great to attend the launch of the APPG for Access to Nature's new report yesterday, which calls for "new statutory rights for responsible access" to the English countryside.

As @andymacnaemp.bsky.social said, "my own view is that we need a default right of access." @righttoroam.bsky.social 1/

This sad old tunnel is on NCN1 Crab n Winkle route in/out of the city, but you get can fined £100 for cycling through it. Not sure a mural of oysters and steam engines will improve matters

I love this approach of using tactical speed reduction measures following any fatal crash. Not just getting back to normal when normal just killed someone.

Glad to see being developed (not yet used) in the US.

Anyone know of any work like this in the UK?

"I cycled to school when I was a kid, and we didn't need fancy cycle lanes."

Yeah, but there's three times more traffic than there was in 1973..

Twice as many cars as there was in 1982..

..36% more traffic on urban minor roads than there was in 1994..

..and cars were *way* smaller, and lighter.

Feeling levelled up. Before and after of public realm works at Canterbury bus station. Some nice buff surface for buses to spill their active hydraulics on, and cycle parking removed at one end. Have footways gained a few cms? Good that those trip hazards are gone tho

Bike lockers, such as this one from Fietshangar (#DCEnetwork), are becoming increasingly popular as more people turn to cycling for transport. With concerns about theft and damage from weather conditions, these secure storage options offer cyclists peace of mind.
