#Monarch update: 86 released this year with 2 more left to hatch/eclose.
I harvested this year's seed pods and... Well, it's a LOT. 10oz coffee mug for reference.
Since we don't have anymore space, we're going to scatter them along a walking trail this fall so they will germinate in the spring.

It got down to 2 degrees Celsius last night and after releasing 5 more this morning with a frost warning for tonight, we decided to move them inside.
Will they make it to Mexico? Who knows, but we'll give them the best chance possible.

Since it's late summer, some leaves are looking iffy so I plucked any with chrysalids on them and hung them up.
If my math is right, that should give us 69 released this year.

This makes me happy.
Even though Federov's exit from Detroit was... less than graceful, he was still an elite member of the organization for 13 seasons and the 3 Cups they won during that time.
His highlight reel is a thing of beauty.

#Monarch update: We either have 50 or 60 in the enclosure. I lost count.
My wife says 50, I say 60.
Either way, we have loads of new friends (11 moved over from the open garden today alone after a few days out of town) but still no butterflies. Our first should be here in a few days though.
