yesss! any record you make in your PDS is signed, and the public artifact is simply the at-uri.
if you make a record with a link to a gist on `github.com/foo` and make a gist on `foo` containing the records at-uri, it is sufficient to prove that DID owns foo.

it was the "android-sdk-full" (or similar) package set from nixpkgs! i then reduced the package composition down by a lot (about 30G now), but it took a bit of trial and error to get my project to compile.
