⭐️ Two weeks ago, Star Village Pilot Project -- a collaboration between Primavera Foundation, OPCS, and the City of Tucson -- welcomed its first group of guests. We prepared "welcome kits" for them, stocked with hygiene essentials and high quality socks donated by our generous partner, Bombas!

Last week, our Employee Recognition Group hosted a sensationally spooky "Boo Bash" for our staff! 👻

Our haunted hall was crawling with costumed creatures, including a mad scientist, Bob Ross, a creepy clown, and Blinky from Pac-Man. Thanks to all who made this celebration frightfully fantastic! 🎃

A truly fabulous Day of Caring! On Friday, we were joined by student volunteers from the UA Eller College of Management. They assembled care packages & cosmetic kits for our unhoused neighbors. Hope to see you again soon, Wildcats!

Indigenous People's Day is 10/13. OPCS acknowledges that we live on the land & territories of Indigenous peoples. Today, AZ is home to 22 federally recognized tribes & nations. Tucson is home to the Pascua Yaqui Tribe & Tohono O'odham Nation. We honor this day by sharing a mural by Ignacio Garcia.

This World Homeless Day, we are taking a moment to acknowledge our work in ending homelessness. So far this year, we have provided shelter and support services to 2,451 unhoused individuals & families, & helped 202 clients secure permanent housing

Old Amazon Motel re-opens as permanent supportive housing in Tucson
The City of Tucson celebrated the opening of the old Amazon Motel, unveiling 30 studio apartments. The project is designed to provide stability and long-term support for residents facing homelessness.

This morning, we joined Mayor Romero, City of Tucson & other project partners to celebrate the ribbon cutting of the Amazon Motel! This newly renovated site will offer 30 units of supportive housing for homeless individuals. OPCS will provide essential wraparound services to help residents thrive.

Recently, volunteers Linda, Nancy, Tere & Lillian came together to serve a delicious brunch at our Casa Amparo shelter. Not only did they prepare a hearty meal, but their kindness fostered a great time of connection and community. 💛
