Reader. Writer. Word nerd. AuDHD. Gluten and dairy free baker. Cross stitcher.

I love movies and stories, but only the ones I love.
Been working my way through The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron. At the very beginning she suggests using affirmations to clear out negative self talk. That idea used to feel too woo-woo, even for me, until I realized that beliefs (such as negative self-talk) are just thoughts you keep thinking.

82 stitches tonight.
I’m not fast, but at least I’m not steady either. Meh. I’ll get there someday.

It’s been a while since my last cross stitch post. So here’s my update. I have no idea how many stitches since the last time I posted. But I can tell you that tonight I did a total of 151 stitches.

Woohoo! Our first podcast is up. It's a bit of a tech run, but the reading was good enough we wanted to share it anyway.

Q: I've been staying at home to help my family, but now I would like to go back to work. I don't know if I should resume my career...

Went to see the Lilo and Stitch remake. In the middle of it, Mr. Shiny leans over and says, “I get what he’s your favorite. He speaks to your inner brat.”

I mean, yeah. L&S are both neurospicy, too.

Anyway, it was good. I loved it. I shall add it to my collection when it’s available to do so.

My honey just came back from a trip to Portland (and therefore Powell’s City of Books) and gave me a pressie. He knows me so well!

Eggy Pie! Or as some people call it, quiche. I used a gluten free pie crust and subbed vegan options for the dairy bits.

This recipe was a favorite of mine until my food issues cropped up. Glad that I can have a version of it once more…

198 stitches. Behold a foot!

It’s funny how adding a contrasting color lets you see the white better. Both in the stocking and the clouds.

270 stitches. If you squint you can see the white stripes. If you squint.

Stitching done! At some point I need to wash and press it, but that’s a future-me problem. Today I bask in the glory of completion.

Are they also in your kitchen?

Work sent me to Coos Bay, OR for an assignment. In honor of this I am watching Garry Marshall’s Overboard (1987). Not sure why exactly, but it seems fitting.

Okay I thought it was either shot here or the fictional town was based on CB. But it wasn’t. But I’m still watching it.

In 2024 I finished 235 books. (This does not count DNFs.) Most of them were saucy romances. Maybe 12 were book club selections.

😂 Good times.

Gluten free baguette.

This is my first time trying this recipe but won’t be the last. It was so easy, and they came out looking like baguettes!
