Cyprus have finally taken the wraps off their 2026 entry, and it’s a full‑throttle blast of Mediterranean pop: Antigoni with “Jalla”. If you’ve been waiting for Cyprus to lean back into big, sweaty, summer‑club energy with a Cypriot twist, this is very much it. You can watch the official music video here: ​ Who is Antigoni? Supernova 2026 rolled into its second semi‑final determined to prove Latvia still has more to offer than earnest alt‑ballads and one novelty act per show – and naturally, we still got both and still no Riga Beaver!   Building on the groundwork from the first semi, this one felt and looked somewhat tighter, louder, and just chaotic enough to remind you this is Baltic TV on a Saturday night, not a cut‑price Melodifestivalen.

Three weeks in and I am really running out of words to describe this bunch of songs in any meaningful way! - Lithuania know how to string you along and we are now half way through their mamoth selection show, Eurovizija.LT.  This week's lambs that no one outside of Lithuania bothered with were : Top 2 went to direct to the final with the third placed song going into a wild card qualifier at some point in the future, hopefully ebfore hell freezes over!

Semi‑final 2 of Melodifestivalen 2026 is in the books and Sweden has once again proved that even their “filler” Saturday night show looks more expensive than most countries’ actual Eurovision staging.  Despite focussing on the Winter Olympics you can bet nearly three million people eschwed skating for schlager. The show The circus rolled into Gothenburg with an arena full of people who apparently pre‑drink on glitter and key changes and balloons - well it is Sweden. 

Vidbir 2026 has wrapped in Kyiv and Ukraine has, in time‑honoured fashion, picked its Eurovision act via three hours of trauma pop and a voting system that looks simple on paper and melts brains in practice.​​ The show Suspilne kept things streamlined again this year with a single 10‑song final, trimmed down from a long list of 15 via auditions and an online wildcard vote.

Bulgaria finally took the plunge tonight, holding another live TV show hot on the heals of last week's Semi Final round,  to decide who’ll carry the flag to Eurovision 2026 — and after a couple of hours of glitz, a lot of chatter, and *some* vocal gymnastics, the singer has been picked. The show, broadcast from Sofia with all the production polish fans have come to expect from Bulgaria,  (and a few camera cuts that made less sense), gave viewers a proper showcase of the country’s talent - or at least the eight that the viewing public thought had a bit of something about them.
