This afternoon I got to try DB’s “Ideenzug”, a heavily modified Twindexx carriage which includes numerous interior designs and concepts to potentially be included on Germany’s future long-distance rail vehicles. Definitely up there as one of the most unique trains I’ve tried to date! 😅

And here’s their replacement - the Railjet 3, a brand new version of the KISS which is expected to launch later this year. After this who knows, maybe the current ÖBB KISS fleet will become fourth hand trains for another operator 🤷♂️😂

Another day, another Stadler KISS - this time I’m riding the “new” ÖBB version which will be taking me up to Salzburg. Crazy to think these trains are only 8 years old and are already third-hand! 😳

Finally had a chance to look inside the refurbished Railjet this morning and it looks great!
I won’t be riding on it today, but I’m looking forward to giving it a proper go soon 🇦🇹

Made it to Budapest 20 minutes late, which meant a swift rebook from my RegioJet service to a Railjet on to Vienna. Arrival time from Munich was 75 mins late, so quite a tight turnaround heading back west 😬

19 mins late due to the snow, but still that’s just over 90 mins from Belgrade to the Hungarian border which is great!
The line will be further extended to Budapest later this year, and whilst for now you can take two local trains there, I’ve opted for the direct and faster Flixbus… 💀
