I keep reading takes like this from smart, well informed people but I'm struggling to get it. I feel like I need a lot more background on media literacy/historical context here (with concrete examples to help me). anyone have any recommendations?

Did you know Google Earth released an API this year to fetch any piece of the earth as a standard glTF you can render in any engine? I built a little viewer app with simple example code: (1) Get an API key (2) run the script and get a 3D model of anywhere on earth!
