The BBC still owes me £300 from 2022.
If they don't pay me by Friday, I will be suing them for $1 billion

Today #SesameStreet returns to our (Netflix) screens, so we consider the impact the show has had on changing the world...
On November 10th, 1969, iconic characters like Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch, and Bert & Ernie made their debut.

Death, bullying, racism were all covered on Sesame Street.

7 million children watched daily and early studies showed that viewers scored higher on educational tests.

Just heard the sad news about Quentin Willson, whom I met on a family holiday when I was 17.

As he was the only person I knew who worked in telly, after my A-Levels I asked him some advice...

Matthew Cordle killed a man whilst drink-driving.
He then confessed to the crime on YouTube.

Twelve years later, after serving time in prison, he talks to me on 'The Modern Mann' about remorse, rehabilitaton - and what it means to take responsibility.

I can't quite believe it, but it's been ten years since we began The Modern Mann.

Even in 2015, we knew that a magazine programme was, in essence, an anti-internet idea. But it's even more so now, in a world where increasing numbers of people think of 'podcasts' as celebrity videos on Instagram...

Slightly shocked by this announcement, as in, I didn't know there wasn't already a library in every primary school. Never seen one without one!

What an ace trio of guests in today's 'culture hour': Nigel Planer, John Suchet & Neil Hannon!
I adored chatting to them all; you can listen back on the free Times Radio app by tapping on today's Drive show in 'catch up' and then fast-forwarding to the final hour...

Since much of the purpose of the UK recognising Palestine today is about message signalling, I'm curious about the word 'inalienable' in the PM's statement.
Do most people know for sure what it means?
How strong a statement is it if you have to Google it?

Times Radio are marking my stint hosting Drive this weekend with my sexy new Blue Steel headshot (by Chris McAndrew).

It's a look that says, "I will genially yet sceptically guide you through the news, whilst covering my belly fat".

Hard to be certain but it's just possible that the cars we feature in this months Modern Mann may be *even more* glamorous than us...

Priscilla Coleman has been sketching criminal trials for five decades, sitting ten feet away from the likes of Rose West, Ian Huntley, Harold Shipman and Gary Glitter. She's covered phone hacking, the Libor scandal, Wagatha Christie... It was a pleasure to meet her for this month's 'The Modern Mann'

Interesting to contrast the UK - where within 48 hours a Deputy PM has lost her job after admitting she should have paid a bit more in stamp duty - with the US, where Trump spent 6 weeks in court, was found unanimously guilty of falsifying business records & then became President

"Angela Rayner is talking to HMRC to work out exactly what tax she owes"

Should have an answer in about nineteen months, then.
