I've found that this matches my experience over the last 5 years or so. It's easy and inexpensive to write integration tests now (e.g. testing a backend through its exposed HTTP JSON API), and they tend to be less flaky and more realistic than unit tests.

The testing pyramid made a lot of sense when it conceived - but this is no longer the case.
