I've been fascinated for a few month about a paper showing a method to synthetize an anonymized dataset from an original dataset. This could really motivate teams to share more freely their data with the public but I have no idea why it hasn't caught on. Maybe just bad COVID timing?
Statistical properties and privacy guarantees of an original distance-based fully synthetic data generation method

I made a script to sync my #zotero collections to my #open-webui chats. Makes me quicker to catch up on new #research. It's a WIP but already useful!
All contributions are warmly welcomed.

Had not heard about SimpleX Chat. Their "no metadata" and "no identifiers" approach is really interesting to me. Can't wait to see it mature and figure out funding.

Best thing I’ve read this morning, from a human rights lawyer in Mexico. Translation is in the ALT-text.

#TheMachinist is a movie with a twist. But it couldn't give you a better feel for what losing touch with reality in #paranoidSchizophrenia can look like if it tried. Good #movie with a phenomenal performance by #ChristianBale.

#SeymourCassel 's performance as Joe in #InTheSoup was stellar. Although not related to #psychiatry, his character perfectly illustrates what #hypomania can look like.
Imperfectly shot but clearly made with feelings so the editor made all the right calls. Great movie!

Can't wait for them to add E2EE DM and too bad it's not fully decentralized.

This is the article that convinced me of #Bluesky 's positive impact. I especially appreciate their resilient motto "the company is a future adversary". Such insight in the design phase makes me optimistic about the project.

Just finished season 1 of #Undone. I think it does an incredible job at showing #delusions in #schizophrenia and the importance of social support. It skillfully changes perspective from the patient to the closed ones at key moments. Great direction and editing. 10/10.

Takeaway for the #P2P crowd: hierarchical distribution > flat #networks for real-world resilience in this context. Seems to me.

A good time to repost this banger from 'The Responsibility of Intellectuals' by Noam Chomsky in '67

Vance is absolutely correct: universities are - and must be - the enemy.

This is why the Right is attacking scholarship globally. They want to end the privilege Chomsky's talking about in 67
