Zine Scene Magazine Archive

This is Greg McCartney's (an Abridged editor) little magazine archive for (mostly) old defunct Irish literary magazines. It's for education/research/enjoyment purposes and not for profit. Copyright remains with the original publishers/writers.
Afternoon. Added a few issues of Graphic to the archive. A very groovy mag, out of Dublin (I think) in the late 80s early 90s. Am missing a few issues, (3, 5 9, 10, not certain there were any more issues after 11) if anyone has them. See them at oldzinescene.com for free!

One of our own has a little online Irish literary mag archive. Give him a like/follow!
Afternoon. A few things have been added to the Archive. Some perhaps lesser known mags of the 1980s and 90s. The importance of magazines is not just for the big names but also for the first time appearing or the person that hasn't got published in ages. Read them at www.oldzinescene.com

Afternoon. Added the three Soundings issues from the early 1970s. Two were edited by Seamus Heaney, the third by Jimmy Simmons. An Annual Anthology of New Irish Writing is the tagline. Mostly Male New Irish Writing it has to be said. Anyways read them at oldzinescene.com/collections/... for free!

Though not in the archive, here's an early 1970s newspaper review of some Honest Ulsterman pamphlets. The reviewer wasn't too impressed, even by the work of some rather famous names...

Afternoon. The first two copies of The Northern Review, from mid-1960s Belfast has been added to the Archive. It was a really impressive, if an expensive magazine. Plus some ephemera. Read them at oldzinescene.com/collections/... for free. If anyone has a copy of the third issue, give me a shout!

Afternoon. Here's a slightly obscure mag (with a great name) from 1959. Nonplus only lasted for 4 issues but had some very well known names in its pages. This issue will be of interest to Patrick Kavanagh and Flann O'Brien fans in particular...Read it at oldzinescene.com/items/show/57 for free.

Though the Archive is for Irish (or related) literary magazines in the main, I'll also add some interesting stuff from elsewhere. This is the first copy of Gemini and features one Sylvia Plath (I'm a fan) plus other names you might recognise. Read it at oldzinescene.com/items/show/56 for free.

Some new (old) magazines have been added to the Archive, mainly Northern Irish mags from the 40s - 90s. Read them at oldzinescene.com for free. If anyone has issues of Quarto, North (the Belfast magazine) or any Irish others no longer published and would like to send them to us, let me know sure.

Spectrum was a Science/Tech/Engineering mag from Queen's University in Belfast. It included some 'Science Fiction' so falls into our remit. This issue is from 1967 so may be of interest to tech nostalgists also! See it at oldzinescene.com/items/show/20 for free!
