This drawing of St. Botolph's Church in Boston, Lincolnshire hangs in Old North's parish house as a nod to the English town that Boston, MA takes its name from.

The name “Boston” is said to be a contraction of "St. Botolph's town," as the church is the area’s largest landmark.

This back pew is where the church Wardens sat.

One of their jobs was to maintain order during the service. The long rods at the end of the pew were used to "adjust" the attitude of a churchgoer. A prod from the stick could quiet a disruptive congregant or awaken a sleeping one!
