This crisis has already begun: many credible NGOs funded by USAID have collapsed, leaving all their workers unemployed. While I may not prioritize other NGOs,healthcare organizations and scientific research labs are critical—not only for us here, but they also provided significant value to the U.S.
Another issue is that when the U.S. "catches a cold," the rest of the world feels the effects. What the U.S. government does now may not immediately impact me here in South Africa (SA), but eventually, those decisions will ripple outward and hit us too.
