Edmonton Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch provided updates on numerous injured players, indicating the imminent return of one while a few others are set to miss more time. Find out more here!
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins set to return to lineup while Jack Roslovic is expected to miss multiple weeks according to head coach Kris Knoblauch
This season, everything good must be balanced out by something bad. And in an injury update provided on Friday morning from Edmonton Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch, that trend has continued. Let's start with the good. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins is expected to return to the lineup for Saturday's game against the Seattle Kraken. Nugent-Hopkins was injured three weeks ago in the 9--1 thrashing at the hands of the Colorado Avalanche.

American Thanksgiving tends to be a good benchmark to determine the trajectory of a team. Where are the #Oilers now and where are they headed?

Greg breaks it down here!
Where the Edmonton Oilers are at the American Thanksgiving mark
American Thanksgiving is traditionally used as a landmark for the NHL season. Math would seem to back up the idea, as well, creating a vantage point into the rest of the season. Yet nothing is written in stone, and teams will be pressing to become outliers to the rule. Perhaps, given the bunched-up nature of the current standings, a rising salary cap might serve to buck the trend.

The #LetsGoOilers goaltending situation continues to get interesting...
November 27, 2025 at 4:19 PM
In 2021, the #Oilers traded away their pick to Minnesota. The Wild selected Goalie Jesper Wallstedt. Is this trade coming back to haunt Edmonton?

Cody breaks it down here!
The Edmonton Oilers are probably regretting trading their 2021 NHL Draft pick
During the 2021 NHL Draft, the Edmonton Oilers had the chance to boost their prospect pipeline with an elite goaltending prospect. Jesper Wallstedt was sitting right there waiting to be drafted. Unfortunately, Oilers General Manager Ken Holland picked up the phone and made a trade. This sent the draft pick to the Minnesota Wild in exchange for a couple of other draft picks.

There is speculation that Jordan Binnington is tied to the Edmonton #Oilers.

This could mean that Stuart Skinner could be traded to St. Louis, and Edmonton is in search of a defenceman, too. #LetsGoOilers

The #Oilers offence looks a lot different this season compared to the seasons before. What could possibly be the issue?

Alex breaks it down here!
The Edmonton Oilers have a point-shot problem
What's the first thing you think of when you think of the Edmonton Oilers offence? A highlight reel Connor McDavid goal? A Leon Draisaitl power play snipe? Maybe Zach Hyman pouncing on a rebound in the crease. What you probably didn't think of first was "a weak shot from the point." Unfortunately for the Oilers this season, that's seemingly how they've tuned their offence.

If the #Oilers are seeking solutions for secondary scoring, they should look no further than the Bakersfield Condors.

Check out some possible options here!
Possible Edmonton Oilers call-ups to solve their secondary scoring issues
It's no secret that the Edmonton Oilers have struggled with secondary scoring and depth this season. While the recent call-up of Connor Clattenburg does address some of the physicality, energy, and compete concerns with the Oilers bottom six, it does little to solve the scoring issues. The one thing that the AHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers does have is NHL-ready playmakers that can generate offence themselves.

The #Oilers had quite a stretch as they finished off a seven-game road trip. Although the team is still struggling, there were some bright spots.

Check out our latest Oil Check here!
Oil Check 3: Check engine light still on for the Edmonton Oilers
At our last Oil Check, things weren't looking great for the Edmonton Oilers, causing somewhat of a panic across Oil Country. The Oilers had just been spanked 9–1 and were looking at an upcoming seven-game road trip, which had disaster-waiting-to-happen written all over it. The Oilers bounced back alright from the loss, winning three of the next four games, albeit all in overtime.

Elliotte Friedman reports Edmonton Oilers “were not happy” with Florida Panthers Stanley Cup celebrations
As the Edmonton Oilers closed out a draining seven-game road trip, there’s a sense around the league and inside their own walls that the team has arrived at its first true pressure point of the 2025–26 season. The trip ended in South Florida, the very building where their last two Stanley Cup runs died and this weekend’s matchup against the Florida Panthers was a statement onr.
