That is my Venmo @AdamHill11685 if you just wanna throw me a few bucks too I’d appreciate it. I know times are tough but as a freelancer that does jump around doing gig work to make ends meet, it’s very hard right now and only seems to be getting worse, I wonder why? lol.
The city that might be my new home soon enough had its own canal — the Washington City Canal ran from the Eastern Branch (now the Anacostia River) through what’s now the National Mall to the Potomac River — opened around 1815 but was filled in by 1871.

I’ve been pretty busy with my parents getting sick and finances. All the fun stuff but I’m gonna start writing again and I was wondering if anyone has any Ideas for a new historical article. No commission on this but it’s first come first serve. Give me something to write about and I’ll make it fun.

Currently accepting article commissions for Substack or if you want it on Medium. Historian by trade so those are the articles I write along with some political. Will accept if I can morally take the work. @AdamHill11685

I see a lot of pretty well to do progressives on here and that’s great that you can live comfortably, however many mutual aid networks can help because no one is donating. Helping people means more than just giving them food, we have bills to pay too. Myself included. Give generously to mutual aid💕

There’s a way to fix this problem with the far right in this country. I’ve read countless books and they’ve made movies about what people need to do. But nobody is gonna wanna do it. If you’re as scared as you say you probably will have to. But materialism is a hell if a drug.

If the last 25 years of presidents who have either done the bare minimum (the 2 dems) or have started decades long wars (bush to trump1) or deport insane amounts of people (ALL OF THEM) and capping it off with Mr ExecutiveOrder/ConstitutionalCrisis cherry on top and you should be a radical now.

New book I’m reading. Only on the first chapter but it’s good so far

Been very busy I’ve let my writing fall to the wayside. I’m working on a couple different stories and articles of a historical or political nature and I’ve gotten really into the pirates of the mid 1500’s to the 1700’s so prepare for a really detailed article about them. Writing about Bookchin too.

We have a US born Pope. I overheard last night (might’ve been aljazeera idk) they said that the US would have to be on the way out as the world’s leader for a pipe to be chosen from the US. Idk how true that is as a rule but I can see our country losing its #1 title in my son’s adulthood, he’s 13.

Read @johngreensbluesky.bsky.social book “Everything Is Tuberculosis” which was excellent and I highly recommend it. I grabbed “Lies My Teacher Told Me” 2nd Edition and just started it. Been told to read it a couple times and I’m surprised I haven’t yet.

As of right now I’m locked out of my linked in but I’m trying to understand how it works and if I could get good remote work on there.

finally have a good computer again and my articles won’t have to be written on an iPhone. That means I can get them out a lot faster. I’m not perfect with scheduling but I never stop writing and with the right tools I tend to write about things I can be proud of. But me a coffee one of these days :)

There’s a YouTuber I really like and he is extremely knowledgeable and well spoken on science fiction and to a point with politics, however he is a lockstep democrat and he falls terribly short on calling out the dems for their performance theatre, that never seems to have a fix. Its Steve Shives 💕

So Israel bombed a school that was sheltering civilians. The fact that this has been going on for so long now and both US parties seem complicit in it as well is pretty sick.

Whig Party collapsed when it failed to address its era's defining crisis (slavery) with clarity. Today's Dems face a similar test. Can they articulate a bold response to rising authoritarianism, economic inequality? History shows that parties which hesitate in moments of crisis risk obsolescence.

Definitely not against trashing a shitty car like a Tesla but ppl talking about it is taking up a large portion of my feed. This isn’t a viable strategy to beat the republicans. Cathartic but not a strategy.
March 31, 2025 at 6:01 PM
Many Democratic leaders often benefit from right-wing policies while being elected by voters who oppose them. The hesitation to counteract aggressive right-wing narratives leaves a vacuum, strengthening the GOP's power. This is probably something we should work on
March 31, 2025 at 2:51 PM
The Supreme Court, has the power to issue rulings but doesn’t have the power to directly enforce them; that responsibility falls to the executive branch, specifically the President, and the relevant agencies. Maybe we should be working on this after the foreseeable constitutional crisis coming jeez.

On this day in 1974 the place where the Terracotta Army was discovered when a farmer named Yang Zhifa, uncovered pieces of pottery when digging a well. The Army has 8000 life size figures and originally every piece was painted to look life like.

I’m far left of center and a couple years ago Facebook would’ve at least understood that I didn’t want rightwing suggestions pushed every couple scrolls. That crap is intentional and in lockstep with what’s happening. Signalgate is important and only part of a very very large tech problem
March 28, 2025 at 5:03 PM
So this whole signal thing doesn’t just seem wildly illegal it is and I really don’t think anything will happen to these people besides getting yelled at by congress and I think that they are probably gonna keep this up using signal just because they can.
