Knitter, crafter, geek.
Finally drew up a #knitting pattern for the hobbit cover scarf that has been on my mind for literal years. I'm really pleased with this one guys.

The chart is on tumblr at the link, but I'm wondering if I should upload it here too?

I think antibiotics would work in Narnia because it runs on faith/magic, and medicine can be believed in. Unfortunately, if you left through the wardrobe to get them, Star Trek morality/science would kick in and make the Narnian time dilation a problem. You'd probably learn a valuable lesson though.

This was such an interesting question because I hadn't thought about that show in years, and for probably not 10 minutes of screen time that plot has really stuck with me.

Asshole Boss decided that it didn't matter, that he would still like to date her, and he was sad when she broke it off with him. It was played straight and it instantly made him a more likeable character. It also made me start really noticing the meanness of almost all other portrayals.

Growing up in the 90s I was aware that trans people existed any rep I had seen was mixed up with drag/comedy. Then Dark Angel (2000-2002) had a single episode side-plot, where the main characters' asshole boss was dating a lady he later discovered was trans.

Holy cow! for the first time in years I've finished a knitting design done entirely for pleasure! I think I'm about to start knitting it!

Is this a passing fad or have I actually rediscovered my motivation? Only time will tell!

Merry Christmas to all those celebrating. Happy Wednesday to all those who are not. And I hope this day passes bearably and swiftly for anyone struggling today.

My mum and aunty did not coordinate xmas cards at all, which makes the similarities quite impressive.

Done! Now I just have to buy write them, and address them. And buy stamps. And maybe some scratchcards to go inside...

...almost finished. I think I'll finish up tomorrow.

Still going...

I've started making my Christmas cards a little late (I always do!) but at least I've got a plan.

Just devoured The Demon's Lexicon by Sarah Rees Brennan in one gulp. She's excellent at writing theoretically unlikeable characters who I like so very much! Glad I bought the whole of her back catalogue to work through.

It's like I adopted a green tribble.

For every pompom I make I discard one for being too blue or too dark or too brown.

I'm thinking of buying new *better* green yarn which was so not the point of this activity.

I think to myself, if I just make a bunch of random green pompoms and fix them to a canvas, that will be quick and easy and look sort of mossy.

Only I'm not very good at quick and easy or random, and I have started getting fussy about the greens.

The area over my stairs is very bare but also a little bit cold and damp. I keep meaning to make some resiliant, non-precious art to hang there.

Also, I keep seeing photos of people making those moss rugs with the mounds of different greens.

Also also, I have a lot of scrag ends of green wool.

I'm aiming to read 52 new-to-me books this year and this is number 46. Almost on target but could do with some safety margin. I don't want to rely on the Christmas Hols to catch up.

Just finished The Burning Page by Genevieve Cogman. It's book three and now I've got the hang of the way the Library and the Language and the worlds work I'm really feeling the stakes. Rattling Adventure. Loved the magic detection bears.

Remove, remove, disable, remove. I don't want my laptop to be helpful, I want it do do what it's told!
