Julian Cope - Jehovahkill
One of JC’s best. Songs ranging from almost perfect pop to kosmische. loved this albums for years but it looks like the cd is starting to die as the last couple of songs are skipping. Time to go shopping.

Roedelius - Selbstporträt Wahre Liebe
A peaceful & reflective record. A beautiful way to unwind at the end of the week.

Kraftwerk - The Man-Machine
An appropriate soundtrack to reading Karl Bartos' autobiography. I enjoy the pop sensibility of this album. The songs are still amazing a mere 37 years after their initial release. It's clear that they impacted so much of the music I love.

Tindersticks - The Bloomsbury Theatre 12.3.95
I love the early Tindersticks albums & this live version is a good intro to 1 & 2. Lush & with more emphasis on lyrics (I like Staples' voice but sometimes it is hard to understand!). I'd forgotten how much I love this.

Barry Adamson - Scala!!!
If this album doesn't put a smile on your face I have no idea what will. A riotous run through B-movie & genre tropes. I remember attending a few of the all-nighters (most memorably the Evil Dead/Reanimator films) when I was a student. Nothing like it.

Galya Bisengalieva - Polygon Reflections
The original album was beautiful & haunting. This reimagining is stunning. Even with a number of different artists reworking the music, it flows like an album. Each artist adds another dimension & I could happily listen to this all day.

Quantic - The 5th Exotic
Another summery album from my time in Brighton. Fun blend of downtempo, jazz & beats. Don't listen to it as much as I should anymore, but it was a big one for me when I was at UoS.

Franck Vigroux & Matthew Bourne - Radioland: Radio-Activity Revisited
A gorgeous reimagining of Kraftwerk. What KW might have sounded like if they signed to Raster-Noton. The sound is crystalline & brittle. There is a love of the glitch. This is how you do a cover.

The Future Sound of London - Dead Cities
Not my favourite FSOL album but still a cracking listen. The collage-like approach to music/sound leads to some interesting results & rewards repeated listens.

The Trip Created by Saint Etienne
I can't put into words how much I love this mix. It is simply joyous from start to finish. No need to say anymore really ...

UNKLE - Rōnin II
I've got a soft spot for UNKLE & the Rōnin releases have seemed like a return to form to me. Made a lovely soundtrack to the walk in this morning with sun over the hills/mountains reflecting in the river (what hasn't dried up).

The Chemical Brothers - Exit Planet Dust
Such a wonderfully joyous album. Just makes me smile both because of the music and the memories. It came out during my PhD and soundtracked many a messy weekend.

Gas - Rausch
I know it is a cliché but I love the journey this album takes you on. Easy to get lost in it for almost an hour. It is a beautiful album.

Amon Tobin - Out from Out Where
I love AT's music (9th time on this list). His music is complex, melodic, organic yet mechanical, listenable yet experimental. This is 1 of my favorites. Unfair to highlight any songs but Triple Science & Mighty Micro People are top notch.

Kraftwerk - The Mix
Obviously, after reading a book on Kraftwerk, I've been revisiting their albums. This one doesn't get the love it deserves, it is both a good introduction to Kw & a good album in its own right (but yeah, I prefer the original album versions for some reason).

Air - Talkie Walkie
Perfect album for a beautiful summer's morning walk to work. Light, cool pop songs that hook you in. Something quite beautiful about some of the melodies.

Interesting & enjoyable read but the scientist/ex-academic in me would have preferred a more balanced/unbiased look at Kraftwerk. Still would recommend it for those interested.

Audio Obscura - As Long as Gravity Persists On Holding Me to this Earth
This is a bit special. Beautiful melancholy mixing piano, electronics & field recordings. Reminds me of a more approachable Raster/Alva Noton album (a good thing, as I love AN) but has character of its own.

Kosmischer Läufer - Volume 5
Another fantastic addition to this series. Perfect for a relaxed summer's morning.

Neu! - Neu!
I thought I'd already put this on the AotD list! I certainly play it enough (along with Harmonia). I've loved this since I 1st heard it (thanks to Julian Cope & the krautrocksampler). More varied than some reviews suggest & just wonderful. I love it.

epic45 - Reckless Engineers
Gentle, almost ambient melancholy. A pastoral sound that perfectly fits a slightly windy summer's day. Recommend.

Harold Budd/Elizabeth Fraser/Robin Guthrie/Simon Raymonde - The Moon and the Melodies
Lovely laid back record. First half is more Budd & piano while the second half has more of a Cocteau's feel. It's a sparse, minimal album but I could listen to it for hours.
