Clearly it’s always been here, but it’s terrifying how easily the monstrous reservoir of antisemitism has been exposed. I’ve never felt at personal risk because of my religion before. That’s changed. Apparently “Never again” may have only been aspirational.

New surgeons ask when being on call stops being so stressful. After almost 40 years of call, I say it generally trends downward, but never quite reaches zero. 🤷🏻♂️ Even if you don’t get a single call, anticipatory “sweat equity” is real and your activity restrictions get old.

Today’s episode: My wife putting on a shoe feels something funny inside. She withdraws her toes & out pops Mr. Toad! She screams like it’s a home invasion & calls me for animal control. After Google says they carry Salmonella she unceremoniously chucks poor Karl in the trash.
