This morning for school drop-off, there were three people helping out our regular crossing guard & they were wearing Muppet shirts & holding puppets and this poster & were urging everyone to tune in next week. (And I wasn’t even one of those people.) So, do it for them!

Like a film adaptation of the weird sequel novel never written in the late 90s or early 00s. And ending with a setup for the next never-written sequel novels that are even weirder!

Yeah, if something’s showing at MOMI you should definitely go (or just go for the Henson gallery!). And the Angelika is a classic New York experience, just pick the movie you think will benefit from subway rumbling.

It’s also probably because of the looming anniversary & rerelease in 2027, right? Mandalorian & Grogu showed up last year before their movie this year, & now the original trilogy guys are around for a year before their 50th.

That’s cool he’ll still be there somewhere. I’ve never been yet & the “strictly in timeline/story” concept held some real nerdy appeal to me, but it doesn’t strike me as panic to get some of the most popular characters of all time in there after it’s been open for five or six years.

But they aren’t taking them out of the park, right? Rey & Ahsoka will still be around. I guess the announcement doesn’t reassure that Kylo Ren will still be walking around, so maybe Vader is replacing him?

On the other hand, my guys love Luke & Leia and are into/scared of Darth Vader, so if we go I bet they’d be excited to see them.

I think it was a weird combo of it being one of that last wave of strips that got popular while the medium had that much reach AND it being kinda zeitgeisty being about the “computers & office work are the future” thing in the 90s. It also had a cynical, snarky tone that was perfectly of its time.

Yeah, I didn’t go too deep (read the strip & collections, but not the business books or newsletter), but I definitely read it & liked it! I loved other strips much more, but for a while it was genuinely hip (especially for a newspaper comic strip).
