The president just gathered the highest ranking officers in the military to tell them that he may order them to kill American citizens -- and that they better follow his orders. All in response to a series of crises that have no basis in reality.

I don't know how to yell any louder.

I hope it's clear to everyone now that Trump really is going for it - he's trying to become a dictator. I don't know if he'll succeed, but he's working to install himself as an autocrat unaccountable to voters. And he's weaponizing the military against Americans who oppose him as part of that effort

Did you wonder what a clampdown on free speech aided and abetted by capitulating media organizations would look like? This is it. @karenattiah.bsky.social simply spoke truthfully about the toleration of gun violence in America.

There's been a huge audience of liberal news consumers that like to demonstrate their broad-mindedness by listening to fellow liberals prioritize conservative viewpoints and framing above their own, and I wonder if NPR has asked itself what happens if that audience ages out or just stops doing that.

The Hunter Biden story is a perfect encapsulation of what’s wrong with American media:

Is it a story? Sure.

But every newspaper in America devoting front page headlines to Hunter fucking Biden while Trump appoints a cabal of rapists, racists and con-men to positions of enormous power is MADNESS.

Trying to get home from Dallas to DC. Flight delayed for hours, finally canceled. Airline tried to rebook me on a flight to Denver(!), and then take a red eye to DC

Thanks to a Biden reg, I was able to get a refund and rebook on another airline

Trump promised airline CEOs he’ll get rid of the reg

I would like a list of conservative ideas that The Global and Mail thinks are 1) edifying and horizon-expanding; 2) something I haven't heard before. Is it the slurs? The taunts? The accusations-as-confession? The recriminations? The threats of sexual and other violence against me and/or others?
Opinion - The problem with Bluesky: It won’t broaden our horizons: In the wake of Donald Trump’s election win, the social-media platform has enjoyed a surge of new users looking for an alternative to Elon Musk’s X. But will it be useful, if it just creates an echo chamber for the left?
