I just can’t support an app that is promoting things that I fundamentally don’t agree with and that are against me and who I am as a person.

My TikTok feed went from cooking and horse videos because horses are one of my special interests to right wing Christian nationalist garbage propaganda. Like many social media CEOs Chou has seemingly cozied up to Trump. Thankfully, it does seem like there’s a number of good replacements out there.

I hate to say this, but I may soon leave TikTok. I’ve made friends and I’ve built a community there. I’ve enjoyed watching videos that I’ve taught me so much but as we all know, it was banned for a few hours from Saturday into Sunday during that time a lot has changed.
