Ichiro’s career arc is remarkably similar Minnie Minoso’s. Both got late starts to their mlb careers, both were pioneering, and they had similar skill sets.

Let’s take a moment and note how awesome it is just to make the hall of fame ballot. Fernando Rodney seemed washed up at age 35 yet still hung around long enough to get on the ballot. It must be so cool to get a nod like that.

People giving shit to the guy who didn’t vote for Ichiro is probably the reason why the “no” voters don’t go public with their ballots
Carlos Beltrán was selected on 81.5% of pre-results ballots and had a final result of 70.3%. That means he appeared on 56.7% of not-yet-revealed and private ballots.

Pittsburgh picked up Trey Cabbage on waivers a few weeks ago, and then flipped him to Yomiuri. No one reports on the transaction fees on these deals, but the Pirates probably got low six figures for his contract. It can be a decent little chunk of revenue for a small market team.
