I recently made a video on the psychology of childhood aggression.

Animated, written, researched, and narrated by me—it was a big undertaking! Features some of my own research, but also many others'. Excited to share it finally 🎉

The classic Dot Probe is trash, but this new version shows some early signs of promise as a valid behavioral measure of attentional bias to threat. link.springer.com/article/10.1...
Evidence of an exponential relationship between attentional bias to threat and anxiety using an original “eye-dot-probe” task - Motivation and Emotion
Over the past decade, the anxiety-related attentional bias to threat, widely investigated through the dot-probe task, has faced challenges. Although the dominant view assumes a static attentional bias...

🚨New Paper🚨

With Paolo Riva & Luca Pancani, I designed and ran daily diary experiments on reactions to #ghosting vs. #rejection over time.

💔 Both were painful.
⏳ Ghosting’s effects were slower to emerge and lasted longer - ambiguous and lacking closure!

When does waiting for a reply turn into #ghosting? 👻💬

@sarahlutz.bsky.social and I introduce response delay tolerance: the amount of time someone is willing to wait for a response in #online messaging before feeling ignored.
