Vocal leftist, democratic socialist. Despise the psychopathic orange liar and his greedy sociopathic billionaire buddy. Husband, father, grandfather. Scientist (retired biochemist), artist, musician, avid book reader, and liberal ๐Ÿ’™ Democrat ( ๐Ÿ’ฏ).
This is a headline in the NYT this morning. "Woman killed by ICE agent seemed at fault, NY Republican says." I wonder how many democrats felt differently.

"America first" is one of Trump's favorite shouts, but all of his cutbacks have made the United States fall behind other countries in many areas. US Academia is no longer number 1. Trump never did like the intelligencia anyway, since he isn't part of it.

Trump's tariff policy is working great; for China. China's products are filling in worldwide, where US products are leaving voids.

The problems in Minneapolis that we see in the news every day are entirely caused by ICE and other federal agencies interfering with a peaceful city.
January 14, 2026 at 12:05 PM
I live in Indianapolis, where the homicide rate is 20 for every 100,000 people and the immigrant rate is 14%. Minneapolis has a rate of 3 per 100,000 with an immigrant population of 10%. So, the homicide rate in Indianapolis is around 7 times worse. But Indiana is a red state so no ICE agents.

When I first read this headline, I thought it was referring to ICE and the US policy since there have been immigrants and citizens shot here recently.

Remember when we used to consider our judicial system to be apolitical? Then the Not So Supreme Court skewed to the MAGA right. And now even the appellate courts fall along party lines.

But just think how hard that mental test that the physicians make him take every year must be. If he ever finds out it's a test for early signs of dementia he's gonna be pissed.

Trump has become emboldened after his successful kidnapping of Maduro. What if Maduro is found not guilty in court?
January 5, 2026 at 12:18 PM
Oil prices have been falling for quite a while, but Trump wants oil companies to spend billions of dollars to revitalize Venezuelan oil fields, just when the rest of the world is moving to renewable energy options.

Trump has renamed the Monroe Doctrine the 'Donroe Doctrine' and plans to rule the entire western hemisphere from some gawdy resort for the aged in South Florida. Trump is truly emboldened now after kidnapping Maduro, and we have 3 more years of constant batshit craziness.

What if they're found innocent? Do they get their country back?
January 3, 2026 at 8:16 PM
As soon as Trump stopped talking, he went right to sleep unless they mentioned him. Then he'd perk up for a second to make sure they were kissing his ass. Which they were.
January 3, 2026 at 8:10 PM
It'd be easy. Trump would be asleep. If he's not talking, he's sleeping.
January 3, 2026 at 7:10 PM
Poor Trump can't stay awake if he's not talking. Just watched his 'stirring' speech where he was trying to describe how awesome he and his War Department are after abducting Maduro and wife.

Maybe some country will invade Washington DC, arrest Trump for crimes he has already been indicted for, and take him away. Far, far away.

I brought up this very topic last week. To me Trump Derangement Syndrome clearly refers to people who think Trump can do no wrong, even though the rest of the world knows Trump is a blithering idiot, pathological liar, and a grifter that heads the Trump crime family.

Several groups that monitor hate speech, disinformation, and racism online have been barred from entering the U.S. by the Trump administration because they are considered 'radical leftists' that censor right-wing groups like Trump, RFK Jr., etc.
