Northwick, Worcester this morning. Only my 2nd Green Sandpiper sighting of the autumn but 2 on the pools is really encouraging. 14 Wigeon. 4 Teal. Goosander. Stonechat and again 4 Tawny Owl calling 1st thing. #WorcsBirds

Northwick, Worcester this morning. Only my 2nd Green Sandpiper sighting of the autumn but 2 on the pools is really encouraging. 14 Wigeon. 4 Teal. Goosander. Stonechat and again 4 Tawny Owl calling 1st thing. #WorcsBirds
Northwick, Worcester this morning. 250+ Canada were present at dawn with 4 Egyptian Goose. Majority flew south. 6 Wigeon. 200+ Mallard. 5 Mandarin on the Severn. 3 Redpoll with Goldfinch. Kingfisher. 3 Chiffchaff with 1 singing. 3 Goldcrest. Stonechat. 2 Reed Bunting. 4 Tawny heard. #WorcsBirds

Northwick, Worcester this morning. 250+ Canada were present at dawn with 4 Egyptian Goose. Majority flew south. 6 Wigeon. 200+ Mallard. 5 Mandarin on the Severn. 3 Redpoll with Goldfinch. Kingfisher. 3 Chiffchaff with 1 singing. 3 Goldcrest. Stonechat. 2 Reed Bunting. 4 Tawny heard. #WorcsBirds

Northwick, Worcester this morning. This beautiful Stonechat became my 6th passage bird of the autumn. Singles of Water Rail, Chiffchaff & Reed Bunting were also on the marsh. 1200+ Wood Pigeon SW in the 1st hour or so. #WorcsBirds

The birding was slow this afternoon on the northern end of #MalvernHills The highlight was at least 3 Redpoll near the top of Happy Valley. They were amongst a large mix tit flock which also held 3 Goldcrest, a Coal Tit and many Chiffchaff. #WorcsBirds

My 1st of the autumn here. 2 Stonechat also on the marsh were new in overnight, feeding alongside a singing Chiffchaff. 14 Teal. Little Egret. Kingfisher. 4 Reed Bunting. #WorcsBirds

1 Ring Ouzel was at the top of Happy Valley in between Table Hill & North Hill this afternoon. I was lucky to watch it eat some Blackberries before he become typically elusive. My 1st Ouzel of the autumn. Of note, 12 Stonechat. 4 Green Woodpecker. Kestrel & Sparrowhawk. #MalvernHills #WorcsBirds

A little shaky handheld video of today’s Glossy Ibis at Northwick, Worcester. Hopefully Bluesky uploads does it justice. Great to watch it knocking those grubs down. Fed well and relaxed for over half an hour until being spooked by the Teal. #WorcsBirds.

This afternoon’s Osprey from North Hill. I picked it up below me as it spiralled up from Great Malvern. It eventually circled over head before gaining more height & drifted slowly south over The Beacon. 1 Wheatear. 1 Redstart. 5 Raven. Chiffchaffs all over the hill. #MalvernHills #WorcsBirds
