A busy start to 2025 with three Automotive Chip-Off courses completed already.

That means six Law Enforcement officers have enhanced their capabilities in Vehicle Systems Forensics—equipped with additional skills to tackle challenges in this field.

Finally managed to get to a UK ASRG event yesterday and was able to offer an insight into the way Vehicle Systems Forensics can work hand in hand with Automotive Cybersecurity. Great presentations all round. Looking forward to future events.

Running another vehicle systems forensics course this week - module 3 from our programme - component examination. Acquisition methods including ISP. Many vehicles still include eMMC with no encryption. However so many different chip types & storage mediums found inside these require multi techniques

Here’s some research we did a few years ago but wrote up more recently about VW Mib2 infotainment systems. Vitally important to understand data limitations, only way to truly know is test.

Another tool just landed for obtaining crash data from airbag control modules when no power at the vehicle. Fortunate to use a prototype earlier this year and it’s a nice addition to the tool box. Video walk through below.

To kick things off we will be hosting one of our module 3 (component examinations) courses out of our training programme next week for people who are looking to use advanced techniques to acquire data from vehicle infotainment systems. ISP and then data reconstruction.
