Love to see the new illuminated 'Corporation Transport' lettering on 1930s Glasgow tramcar 1245 which is being restored by our amazing volunteers at Summerlee Museum

1245 was the last Glasgow tram to run before the power was turned off. See the Glasgow's Last Tram Group website glasgowslasttram.net

A new story on our website explores the legacy of the Aitchison's of Rochsolloch and their links to slavery on the island of Grenada. The Aitchison's accrued this tainted wealth and reinvested it at home, leaving behind a troubling legacy which we can still see and feel today.

His last task was overseeing the early construction of Ravenscraig Steel Works

Lots of lovely things in 'Back to the Drawing Board', the next exhibition at North Lanarkshire Heritage Centre in #Motherwell, all about the art of technical drawing

This tracing from 1907 is of a George Russell & Co 4 ton electric wharf crane for the Clyde Navigation Trust

Exhibition opens Friday
A large (approximately A0 size) tracing in black ink on blue-ish paper. It shows elevations of a crane which has a cross-girder base that is on wheels. It is seen at an angle, protected by acrylic. A straight-on view of the same tracing seen in the previous picture.
