Today will see a cold day with variable cloud cover and scattered showers being pushed in from the east at times, these falling as sleet and snow in places, particularly on the hills.
This evening will see showers continue for a time, but through the night they should become increasingly confined to the coast before clearing, leaving all with clear skies. A cold night.
Tomorrow will see a dry, bright, and cold day. In the evening, areas of cloud will start to drift in from the north-west.

In continuing cold weather conditions, when widespread ice is forecast, and as resources become available, we will progressively start gritting: main footpaths and car parks in town centres; busy urban shopping areas; important pedestrian links and footpaths next to large schools.
Please drive according to the weather conditions and take care on the roads.
