Is there a good reason why state or federal governments don't simply offer their own websites to advertise homes, requiring all homes to be listed there?

I'm responding to a referee report that I'm convinced was entirely generated by AI. E.g., why did you do X? X isn't mentioned *anywhere* in the paper, but from the ref list you could see how AI could predict it is. And of course verbose 'kind of makes sense but not really' sentences abound.
