Despite the horrors in the world, I breathe, I walk, and I exist. And I will continue to do so, long after the horrors cease to exist.

It's that time of year again... is there anything spookier than impediments to free and open access to information? We think not!!

Make sure you follow along with us this Banned Books Week—we'll be sharing all the resources, updates and cool events they don't want you to know about.

Why is it that when I get my book out to the world, Ai is trying to take over and any site I use to promote myself and my books is going to shit?!

Maybe this is some kind of omen from the universe.

So this line no longer exists, a simpler method of travel was found and used.
I’d never thought that the line “Get the blimp and the android!” Would be an actual spoken line of dialogue in any of my major projects and it’s making me laugh.

I wish people would understand this is not a Bluesky exclusive thing. Jumping ship to another site will not do anything and you will be in the same position again and again.

Make your voice heard, don't just keep trying to run away from the problem.

Hey uh, in case your wondering why I haven’t posted anything, I have nothing to share and I’m trying to cut back on my social media usage.

So, yeah.

Maybe something soon but for now, no.

Sometimes we’re unsatisfied with a thing we made because when it only existed in our head, we saw all the things it could have been and when it’s done we know all the things that it isn’t, but we can’t see the way it expands into a million new things when someone else unpacks it in their head. 🖊️🦑

People are reading AI-generated synopses of books and then claiming they read 100 books in a week. This is how the abolition of books began in Fahrenheit 451: classics were condensed into five-minute summaries for those too busy to do the reading. Later came the burnings.

Whenever I feel like my books are trash or just don’t make a lot of sense, I look at the books that are being traditionally published and getting adaptations and I start to feel a bit better :) #booksky

Hi NASA! I’m doing a project on the Voyager 1 spacecraft, specifically the golden record. Do you have a complete list of the photos and what order they appear on the record on your website?
NASA: Nope!

Physical books never stopped being in fashion, even with younger readers. I strongly suspect this is in no small part due to books being a common gift, and now Romantasy is getting buyers used to pretty editions with endpapers and sprayed edges.
Physical Media Is Cool Again. Streaming Services Have Themselves to Blame

Collectors new and old tell Rolling Stone there's nothing quite like the feel of holding your favorite art in your hands.

You've inherited a movie theater, what's your first double feature?

(It was either gonna be Monty Python and The Holy Grail or Eternal Sunshine for in place of Grand Budapest)

If you use AI to do the parts of writing that aren’t your favorite you will 100% be a worse writer. Bad at pacing and using AI to fix that? Great, now you have never actually learned pacing. Bad at descriptions? Sweet, you have no idea how descriptions reveal character. You actually just suck.
This is an "author" using the idea that you shouldn't suffer for your art AS A REASON TO USE GENERATIVE AI TO WRITE INSTEAD.

That is not what that phrase means. It doesn't mean you shouldn't emotionally connect with your art--it means you shouldn't fucking starve or have chronic depression.

Just a reminder to my author peeps, check and see if you can make your book available to rent at your county library system. Because I did!

…I’ll let you know how it goes in a few months.
