Took me ages to settle on backgrounds: digital painting vs 3D. Chose 3D for angle/lighting flexibility, then spent forever picking a render style.

The protagonist comes from a magic world ruled by individualism and strength. The new world rejects magic, valuing collectivism and majority rule. I reflected this in their formal wear while keeping individuality through outfits, poses and hairstyles. Art - Charlotte WIP.
