My 4th graders have been diving into the world of wetlands.

This week they chose a type of wetland to recreate, using food items to represent the unique plants and animals of their ecosystem. It was a hands-on challenge that sparked imagination, critical thinking, and a whole lot of fun.

It’s #clearthelist time! That magical time of year when educators beg friends, family, and total strangers to help them supply their classrooms. So, if you have a few bucks to spare, I’m headed back for year 26 and would love anything you give. 💜

Today I met with some of my GirlsWhoCode members, fellow sponsors, and parents to watch Rule Breakers - an incredible movie about the Afghan Girls Robotics Team’s their struggles and successes. We were joined by a homeschool robotics group and tickets were courtesy of Availity and She Can Code It.

I'm locked out of X so guess I'll be here more often. 🤷🏻‍♀️
It was a great week! 10k step club, round 1 ended. I placed 3rd out of 12. Just started round 2 today and we have 16 members now.
I'm already at 12k and trying to decide if another walk is worth it to have the highest score today. 🤔

5th grade had an exciting visit to the DCPS Minecraft lab. We started with a bit of free building, then, we dove into a math session to enhance our understanding of area and volume, tackling problems and creating our own models. We finished with a group build challenge to design a treehouse.

Look at these cute "trash to treasure" turkeys.🦃 Some are even in disguise 🥸 so the farmer 🧑‍🌾 can't find them before Thanksgiving dinner. 🍽️

Had dinner with my 16yo daughter tonight. Discussed world religions. Loved it so much. I didn't discover other religions until college. I love that she is already having these conversations.

This means so much to me. Today, when my Girls Who Code club ended, a 3rd grader (whom I have been teaching to code since she was in Kindergarten) ran up to me to give me this bag. She said her Mom got two of them and she wanted to give one to me. 🥰

My youngest has to complete an hour of math online each week. He purposefully misses questions so it will take longer on each assignment. I'm not sure if this is genius or diabolical. Or both.
