We had a great day in Ipswich yesterday - lunch at Noodle 92 and then off to New Wolsey Theatre, where we saw a three person production of David Copperfield. I'm not a Dickens fan, but this was excellent - engaging, energetic, funny, moving.

One thing that’s taken some adjustment in my PhD is the pace of outputs. Unlike working life, there aren’t daily deliverables in the same way - progress is slower, quieter, and often invisible.
But those small milestones matter. They’re the bricks that build the bigger picture. 1/3

Another cracking night out at the John Peel Centre for Creative Arts with 3 excellent performers - Lianne Kaye, The Wilswood Buoys and The Leylines. It's a shame The Leylines are calling it a day soon 😐

And all for the princely sum of £17 each including booking fee...

Westley and Arlo are always pleased to see us in the morning, although Arlo's noises and Westley's chittering teeth are expressing their opinion that breakfast is late and I should stop filming them!

(Clean out after breakfast!)

Obligatory post to announce that we have snow! It's an unusual occurrence in East Anglia - one of the reasons I was happy to move here!

I set myself some goals for 2025, and the results are a bit of a mixed bag in terms of the numbers. Some I smashed, some I didn't come close! And there are lots of things I did that I didn't even plan.

My phone can't quite capture the intensity of the colours of the amazing sunrise that is welcoming in 2026! #sunrise #newday #newyear

A rare shot of Arlo sleeping with his eyes tightly shut and completely at peace with the world. Maybe he was making sure he'll be awake at midnight to see the new year in?

At the end of this month, I’ll officially be stepping down from my volunteer role with CIPR East Anglia, bringing ten rather wonderful years to a close.

Ten years of brilliant colleagues, thoughtful debate, excellent training, and the sort of encouragement that quietly but firmly nudges you

As the year ends, I'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has taken part or shared our GP survey on #tinnitus & #hyperacusis.

I'm still collecting data, so if you're a GP, it should only take 10-15 minutes to complete!

Finished! This was one of my Christmas gifts from my partner - definitely one poinsettia that won't go leggy and spindly!

It's been added to my other Christmas Lego and Lego-dupes. It's not an obsession, honest!

Today in 2022, we lost my dad, whose big & brave heart failed under the strain of MND

But, he's not really lost. I carry him with me all the time - not just in my memories, but in my interests, my hazel green eyes, my sweet tooth, my curiosity & in how I approach life.

Cheers, dad!
